Holly began her dental nursing career in Disley, completing her Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing in 2013. Over the course of more than 10 years working with the public, she has developed a strong passion for patient care and practice improvement.

As a dental nurse, Holly plays a vital role in supporting dentists, hygienists, and therapists chairside by preparing treatment rooms, ensuring all instruments are sterilised and ready, assisting during procedures, and providing reassurance and comfort to patients throughout their appointments. Her attention to detail and adherence to strict infection control protocols help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.

Holly has also taken a keen interest in conducting clinical audits to enhance the quality and safety of care at the practices she’s worked in. These audits have covered a wide range of areas, including radiographs, clinical notes, disability access, and infection control standards. Her dedication to continuous improvement led to her being nominated as first aid lead at previous practices, where she gained confidence managing difficult situations calmly and effectively.

Her experience working closely with patients inspired Holly to create educational posters and leaflets on important oral health topics such as cold sores, oral cancers, and child oral health month, helping to raise public awareness and promote prevention.

Holly joined Goyt Valley Dental Practice in 2023 and has quickly become a valued member of the team. In addition to her daily dental nursing duties, she serves as our Audit Lead and oversees our ‘Was Not Brought’ scheme, ensuring that patient appointments are effectively managed and followed up.
